Fellow dAers,

Its been too long since I've posted.
I hope this message finds you well.

This month, I started working on a passion project I've been working on an off on.
Its a critique on contemporary art culture, sometimes satirical, sometimes serious, always art related.
If you enjoy my work and like what I do, please stop by and check out it out

I've still been sculpting and will start to share work again soon!
Thank you for your continued support.

Hi Everyone,

As someone who's participated in past dA contests and has made semi finals and even won 2nd place in one, I can say that by putting yourself out there, you're really pushing yourself to be the best you can be.

Look at these contests as a way to do something amazing.  Its a huge challenge for anyone to work under deadlines and produce the best work they can. As long as you can say you've done the best you can, and really mean it - then you've already won.

Instead of being spiteful and hating on the judges decisions, be thankful for the opportunity the contest gives you to create great work. It drives us to be great.

As for my own work, I am a traditional sculptor - simply put, I do not belong in a contest dominated by digital artists. I CHOSE to participate because of love for the franchise. I knew it would be a long shot. Because anything I make, I can only show it to all of you as a picture. To pit a picture of a sculpture against highly rendered digital paintings isn't ideal. (artanis-one.deviantart.com/art…)

But In the 2 weeks I've worked on creating as sculpture, I find that its made me work harder and faster than ever.

It has made me a better artist and I know that I can tackle any I set my mind to.

Legendary Sculptor Steve Wang says it best in his Interview with the Stan Winston School

"To be good at anything, you have to work hard - to succeed at anything, one of the traits of people who are successful - is that they go above and beyond the call of duty and they ask for no compensation, its not about the compensation. Its about  what you feel inside, what you want to do - That all ties in with passion.

Work hard at being the best artist you can .... Hopefully you have to love it, if you don't love it, then you shouldn't do it. It's not worth it. Being an Artist is a very lonley life, it really is. If you don't love, what you do then there's no point. If you lvoe what you do, your love for it keeps you company. " ( www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGKe4P… )

Thanks again for the opportunity deviantart.com.

Hello Deviants!

As promised, I've submitted my piece for the Diablo 3 Contest. I have a lot of work in progress pictures to show everyone as well as behind the scenes for the photo shoot.
I sculpted it out of EVA foam. over 80 pieces of armor total. This was the most labor intense project I have ever worked from start to finish in tight deadline to date. It is also the largest sculpture I've ever made for a Deviant art contest measuring almost 2 ft. But enough words -

Here are links to the piece!

First off, Let me apologize for the long hiatus from deviant art.

I am building up a new body of work so these days I'm super busy - in a great way!

Diablo 3 is one of my favorite franchises so I had to create something for this contest, Its the most ambitious thing I've ever worked on and I've learned a lot of new techniques from doing it. I'm one day from completing the sculpture of Malthael. After doing this piece, I've discovered armor is very very tedious to make and I've also created molds to cast a few pieces that are repeated int he armor. Also. I realized I can't sculpt wings made out of smoke - so I've tried to come up with a creative solution.

Its very hard competing against digital artists, but I believe this is the best work I could have created. I will be uploading this submission within the next 3 days so look out for me!

Hey there deviant arters,

I apologize for my long hiatus. Its been a helluva year. I moved recently and have been settling in. Its a slow process. But I promise more art is on its way!

I digress. My amazingly talented partner is in a lumosity.com contest and I would like to use my star power (hahahaha) to reach out to anyone  who can help make her one step closer to top 10.
