Concrete, welded steel, u lock, and soil

Life Size. Comprised of fabricating and welded steel roots, Casted concrete (spanning 5 ft approx)and bent galvanized steel.

In a city primarily dominated by the automobile, green ways and ever growing bicycle paths meld with traffic to become an integrated urban landscape. By uprooting, the "U" Cycling Parking stations, the austere metal frame takes form as industrial fauna.

this hits me hard - if the sort of sculpture i've dreamed of making. - have you seen Frank Stella's newer sculptural works. worth looking up if you haven't - similar vein i think

Thanks for stopping by, This piece is made because I'm avid cyclist, and New York drivers hate that.

And do you mean stella's gaudy 80's color schemed tangled assemblages? Frankly I preferred his black paintings to any of his new works myself.

i can't stand Stella's flat work. he's doing big messy/freeform cast aluminum sculpture lately. - the very anti-thesis of his 'masking tape' paintings lol.
